Horn of Africa-Led Leadership
- Horn Environmental and Social Sustainability (HESS) is a Horn of Africa–based consultancy firm established in 2017 and headquartered in Somalia and Somaliland. The firm provides practical, adaptable solutions to environmental, climate, and development challenges across Somalia and the wider East African region.
- HESS places strong emphasis on the agricultural sector, where resource constraints, climate variability, and institutional gaps continue to affect productivity and sustainability including in areas such as commercial horticulture, irrigation systems, and climate-smart production.
- The firm has built a solid track record working with government institutions, and development actors, centering its work on technical advisory services, implementation support for humanitarian and development interventions, and capacity-building initiatives.
- HESS holds a commercial licence from the Federal Government of Somalia and its federal member states, with physical offices in Somalia and Somaliland.

Operational Presence
- Strong and established presence throughout Somalia, particularly in South Central regions.
- Implemented projects across Hirshabelle, Galmudug, and South West states.
- Significant field experience in challenging environments, including Beledweyne, Cadaado, and Afgooye.
- Established a sustainable local governance framework for natural resources in Lower Shabelle.
- Established a local, peaceful mechanism for preventing resource-based disputes in Cadaado.
- Operational presence includes both Mogadishu (Head Office) and Hargeisa (Liaison Office).
